After completing my Diploma of Screen in 2001, I found myself working in the Audio Visual industry since early 2002. I have worked in a variety of areas and clients from private functions, corporate events with some of the largest companies around today to outdoor community festivals.
Starting with Videoplus (later to be known as Newlight Event Creation) I stayed until 2012 when Newlight ceased operations. During my decade at Videoplus/ Newlight I had many roles from warehouse, venues throughout Greater Sydney area and eventually administrative roles.
My time in venues ranged from the The Sebel Resort & Spa Hawkesbury Valley, then the Citigate Sebel Surry Hills and The Sydney Marriott (Hyde Park.)
Moving to Head Office in an administrative capacity initially I was supporting the Venue Services Manager over see over 20 venues across Australia and New Zealand. After a company restructure my role changed to provide training for staff in venues, IT support, and general systems ensuring everything was able to run as smoothly as possible for the day to day running of the business.
After Newlight ceased trading, I freelanced as an AV technician before taking a role with Sydney Metro Audio Visual where I spent most of my time at the Event Centre at Penrith Panthers.
The oppotunity came up to run some of my own Martial Arts classes which I jumped at but also went back to being a Freelance Audio Visual Technician.
In June 2016 I took on a full-time position at PwC part of the inhouse Audio Visual Team where I am currently working.
My skills cover most of the audio visual range, from IT, audio, vision and lighting. With my kit of gadgets I usually will have a plan B (and C) to get the job done and have a successful event.
I work to the philosophy of "Never be afraid of finding a more efficient way to replace your job."
